Terms of use

Last updated 14 September 2026

The short version. Voxden is licensed to you for your own Windows PCs, not sold or resold. Everything you dictate stays yours. Pro renews every month until you cancel it from inside the app, and cancelling leaves Pro running to the end of the period you paid for. The sections below are the full version, and they are what counts if the two ever disagree.

Who we are

Voxden is made and sold by Sounak Chakraborty, a sole proprietorship registered under Udyam in Barddhaman, West Bengal, India. On this page, "we" and "us" mean that business, and "you" means the person or organisation using Voxden. Installing the app, signing in or paying for Pro means you accept these terms.

The software

We give you a licence to install and use Voxden on Windows PCs you own or control. The licence is personal and is not for resale: you may not sell, rent, sub-license or redistribute the app, and you may not sell access to a Pro account. Voxden is licensed to you, not sold, and the copyright in the software stays with us.

You keep everything you dictate. The text, the audio, your dictionary entries and your history are yours, and we claim no rights over them. What the app keeps and where is set out in the privacy policy.

Accounts

Voxden asks you to sign in, either with Google or with a code sent to your email address. Keep the account to yourself: you are responsible for what happens under it, on every PC you have signed in on. Sign out from Settings on a PC you stop using.

We can suspend or close an account that abuses the service, and we will say why when we do.

Plans and billing

  • Free costs nothing and runs the speech model on your own PC, with a weekly allowance of 3,000 words.
  • Pro is ₹349 a month in India, charged through Razorpay, or $8 a month everywhere else, charged through Lemon Squeezy, who are the merchant of record for those sales. Which one applies follows the country your account is placed in.
  • Pro renews every month until you cancel it. Cancel any time from Plans & billing in the app; Pro keeps working to the end of the period you have already paid for and nothing further is charged.
  • Prices can change. If a price changes, we will tell you before it applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first if you would rather not continue.

When money comes back, and when it does not, is on the refunds and cancellation page.

Voxden Cloud

Pro includes a monthly allowance of 900 cloud credits, and 1,200 in your first month. The allowance resets every month, and unused credits do not carry over to the next one. It is meant for one person's own dictation: sharing an account between people, automating it, or pushing bulk audio through it is outside fair use, and we can slow or stop cloud access that is doing that.

Acceptable use

  • Do not use Voxden for anything unlawful, or for anything that infringes someone else's rights.
  • Do not work around the plan limits, the weekly word allowance or the cloud credit allowance, and do not run several accounts to get past them.
  • Do not try to extract, reverse engineer or reuse the service's API keys, credentials or speech models, and do not build a competing service on top of them.

Availability and changes

Voxden is actively developed, so features, speech models and cloud providers can be added, changed or discontinued. The app updates itself, and an update may be needed for it to keep working with the account service. We may also change these terms; the current version always sits on this page with the date it was last changed. We do not promise the service will be available without interruption.

Disclaimer and liability

Voxden is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Speech recognition makes mistakes, so read anything that matters before you send it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data or lost profits, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid for Voxden in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Barddhaman, West Bengal have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
